A Night Fairy Can Be Very Scary............or NOT!

A long time ago in a land right here in the West, I had a party in my Secret Garden and that's when the idea to create my first Night Fairy came to mind. With my garden filled with a favorite gathering of friends we took a vote and all decided that a new breed of fairy should be introduced into our circle. 

And here she is.....meet Sabrina The Night Fairy:

She is a beautiful bat-winged wonder of sheer elegance

Dressed in fine color-changing silk adorned with black crepe silk sleeves

Her sculpted corset was my favorite to create

And oh I had such fun designing and making her faux black onyx and pewter pendant with Swarovski crystal displayed at the tip. To add to her fantasy I added a copper waist chain with her two most valuable keys and I topped her off with a fitting metal ax/sword/wand combo to keep all those in your Secret Garden on their toes. 

Speaking of toes......wait till you see the beautiful purple silk shoes I created and fitted her with! Head to toe she is fully poseable and hauntingly gorgeous, wouldn't you agree!

A Taste of What's in Store.....Spirits in the Wood!

Talk about summer fun, I had lots of it creating and adding to my Spirits in the Wood series of one of a kind unique sculpted treasures. I've named this one "The Kiss":

These beautiful fairies are captured in a magical moment of their first kiss. I so enjoyed sculpted them in polymer clay and blended them into the curves and cracks of my foraged wood, all unique pieces from my hikes in the US and England and from my gardens. 

"The Kiss" is 7 inches long and 6 inches high at the top. This standing piece is attached to 2 more  complimentary pieces of wood, creating a stand. They were then connected by pegs inserted into drilled holes and glued for added strength. 

All of my creations are one of a kind and won't be duplicated. I only make a few of my Spirits in the Wood pieces a year and once they are sold there won't be any more until next year.

The Merfairy

Serena, The Merfairy is a 1/12th scale miniature. She is sculpted in Prosculpt polymer clay and has a wire armature so you can pose her arms and tail. There were no molds or porcelain parts used in the creation of this doll. She was sculpted 100% by my hands.

Beautiful Serena has vintage 1930's lace covering her tail and upper arms. All the pearls on her tail are sewed by hand. The lace bottom fins of her tail are Venice lace with hand sewn pearls as well.The many pearls on the lace at her shoulders,waist, bodice and head piece are painstakingly hand applied one by one. There are also micro pearls, green micro beads and glass bubbles all hand applied one by one on her head. Her hair is lite pink Tibetan Lamb. On her wrists she wears pearl bracelets. Serena comes with her beautiful chase lounge that was custom made for her from bits of drift wood and shells collected on my trips to the sea. The mattress and pillow are covered in silk mesh with AB sequins. She also has an extra pillow made in sea green satin with silk trim and tassels. There are glass bubbles of varying sizes and tiny sea shells adorning the chase. It is the perfect place to pose Serena. She would look lovely and so unique in a fairy house or room box.
