My special place is filled with love and laughter and my goal is to help you create your special place, surrounded by miniature people that have big personalities, small egos and help create very happy memories for you and your loved ones.

These two friends need no introduction.........

A Night Fairy Can Be Very Scary............or NOT!

A long time ago in a land right here in the West, I had a party in my Secret Garden and that's when the idea to create my first Night Fairy came to mind. With my garden filled with a favorite gathering of friends we took a vote and all decided that a new breed of fairy should be introduced into our circle.

And here she is.....meet Sabrina The Night Fairy:

She is a beautiful bat-winged wonder of sheer elegance

Dressed in fine color-changing silk adorned with black crepe silk sleeves

Her sculpted corset was my favorite to create

And oh I had such fun designing and making her faux black onyx and pewter pendant with Swarovski crystal displayed at the tip. To add to her fantasy I added a copper waist chain with her two most valuable keys and I topped her off with a fitting metal ax/sword/wand combo to keep all those in your Secret Garden on their toes.

Speaking of toes......wait till you see the beautiful purple silk shoes I created and fitted her with! Head to toe she is fully poseable and hauntingly gorgeous, wouldn't you agree!

Sabrina is in my Etsy shop (more pictures there) and ready to fly around and protect your house this Halloween.....there is still time if  you act fast. I hope you're the luck collector that gets her. Visit LoreleiBlu Miniatures on Etsy

It's all in the details

What makes a one of a kind poseable collectible doll desireable.........the artist has to pay attention to every little detail to make it special. Since all my designs - heads, faces, hands, feet, hair, shoes, costumes and accessories are never duplicated I create the look I want in in my head first and then build my character to realize my vision.

The end result is that my dolls and accessories have to please me first or they wind up moving in to the assisted living doll house for unwanted flops, never to be seen by my selective collectors. If it doesn't pass my expectations and tell a simple but exciting backstory it joins the LoreleiBlu scrap pile.

Here are a few examples of what I mean by "the devil is in the details";

Here's a hat made for a special, not every day common Witch

And shoes that make a statement of class and style, not just foot covers

I create full costumes to set a mood and style that compliments the character

Head to toe, front to back

My buying trip for finding unique exquisite vintage and classic materials along with other treasures to create many more wonderful characters is coming to an end this week, it's been a great one! I'll be back at my studio controls next week to once again jump head first into creating OOAK Art Dolls with details that delight. Stay tuned for many more creations in the weeks ahead that will inspire and further develop your desire for the unusual.

A Taste of What's in Store.....Spirits in the Wood!

Talk about summer fun, I had lots of it creating and adding to my Spirits in the Wood series of one of a kind unique sculpted treasures. I've named this one "The Kiss":

These beautiful fairies are captured in a magical moment of their first kiss. I so enjoyed sculpted them in polymer clay and blended them into the curves and cracks of my foraged wood, all unique pieces from my hikes in the US and England and from my gardens.

"The Kiss" is 7 inches long and 6 inches high at the top. This standing piece is attached to 2 more  complimentary pieces of wood, creating a stand. They were then connected by pegs inserted into drilled holes and glued for added strength.

All of my creations are one of a kind and won't be duplicated. I only make a few of my Spirits in the Wood pieces a year and once they are sold there won't be any more until next year.

Having said that if you move quickly you could be the lucky one to make this magical gift, "The Kiss", yours. It's in my Etsy Shop, https://www.etsy.com/shop/LoreleiBlu

My miniature accessories are sculpted in polymer clay and given an old patina to make them look like they have been experiencing a life of their own for many years while waiting for you to find them.

I use very old bits of lace and material acquired over many years of collecting. If only these special pieces could talk. I love to give my beds and other furnishings life by using these very precious finds.

All of my art dolls are 5 1/2"  tall and have hand painted or meticulously crafted eyes.
Each of my creations are OOAK, signed originals and will NEVER be duplicated.  Every one comes with a certificate of authenticity.
